What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an exceptionally safe form of holistic medicine, which treats the whole individual, not just the disease itself. It does this by strengthening our body’s immune system and stimulating our own healing abilities on all levels – physically, mentally and emotionally.

Homeopathic remedies are made from minute quantities of substances naturally found in plants, animals & minerals, and are prepared through a process called potentization (a series of dilutions and successions – a forceful shaking action) which removes all risk of chemical toxicity.

“Homeopathic remedies are safe, non toxic and non-addictive, and can be used for both chronic and acute complaints.”

How Homeopathy works

Homeopathy was developed over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann, a German Doctor and Chemist. He had become increasingly disillusioned with the conventional medical practice at the time, and developed a system of medicine which he called Homeopathy.

The science of Homeopathy is based on the ‘Law of Similars’, which states that a substance which can cause a dis-ease can also relieve it. So homeopathic remedies work by helping the body’s own defence system to heal itself.

For example, a person who is chopping an onion can sometimes develop watery eyes, a runny nose, sneezing, coughing and throat irritation, which result from from exposure to the onion’s active substances.

The homeopathic remedy, Allium cepa, made of potentized red onion, can help the body overcome a cold or allergy attack in which the person has similar symptoms (watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, or throat irritation.)

By the same principal, coffee causes insomnia, so the homeopathic remedy used for treating restlessness and sleeplessness is Coffea, made from unroasted coffee beans, and in a similar way, insect stings are treated with a remedy made from honey bees.

In each of these examples, the actual symptoms of the dis-ease were not caused by exposure to a particular substance, but a remedy made from that substance can help the body overcome them, because the symptoms are similar.

“Thank you very much again for the dedication you put in the consultations you had with me. You were – from the beginning – spot on with your questions and treatment. You are blessed with a lot of knowledge about homeopathic remedies, empathy and love.”

My approach to homeopathy

Although homeopathy works quickly in common everyday complaints, it is not a treatment for those in search of an instant cure or a quick fix. The healing art of homeopathy requires careful self-observation, will power and taking responsibility for your own amazing health and wellbeing. The reward for this is a greater sense of well-being, energy and a resistance to dis-ease.

And so my approach is to see homeopathy as a starting point. When a body gets sick, especially with a serious or long-lasting condition, it is a sign that something deeper is happening.

And whilst homeopathy on its own may provide some relief from the symptoms, if you are willing to look at wider issues such as your lifestyle, your attitudes & behaviours, and even your thoughts & emotions, you are likely to discover some deep realisations, which in turn will help you address the underlying causes for your illness.
